Why Would Clinton and Obama Appear on WWE Raw?

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 06:32:51 PM PDT

I was just watching WWE Raw, and Hilary Clinton addressed the crowd via a taped message!  I was shocked, they have been promoting appearances by Clinton and Obama for the past few weeks to be aired today, but I assumed it was a typical gimmick, where they'd have lookalikes get in a humorous brawl or something.  In addition, they announced McCain will be appearing.

As of this posting, only Clinton has addressed the crowd, but I imagine the other two are forthcoming.  The implications of having major candidates appear on a wrestling show are numerous and complicated.

Can You Smell What Barack IS Cooking?

Note: Title is a wrestling reference not a culinary one.

In their effort to leave no demographic un-pandered to, all three presidential candidates will make [taped] appearanes on Monday night's WWE Raw. Huffington Post

The WWE is also playing a simulated fight between Obama and Hillary on its website.

UPDATED: Pander-weight Champion Of The World

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 01:07:54 PM PDT

Tonight Barack, Hillary, and McPain will be on WWE Monday Night Raw, well on tape and on the show anyway. Per CNN here is what Hillary is supposed to say:

Hi, I’m Hillary Clinton. But tonight, in honor of the WWE, you can call me Hill-Rod.

This election is starting to feel a lot like "King of the Ring." The only difference? The last man standing may just be a woman.

The truth is, this election is so important. The next president will face a stack full of difficult challenges right from the opening bell... to fix the economy, bring our troops home from Iraq, and make college more affordable. You need a president who will go to the mat for you. And that’s exactly what I’ll do.

I’ve been knocked down, but I’ve always gotten back up. And I know how to take a hit for the American people. And if things get a little tough, I may even have to deliver the "people’s elbow."

Because this country is worth fighting for.

Now, I promise to stick to the political arena. So don't worry Randy Orton you're safe... for now.

When it comes to standing up for the American people though, I am ready to rumble.

CNN gets caught in selective editing

Tue Nov 13, 2007 at 08:22:10 AM PDT

Note to CNN: do not allow your interviews to be filmed unedited if you want to avoid exposing your hit pieces.

Thats exactly what happened to the CNN John Cena interview.  Cena sat down with an interviewer and had a lengthy discussion about steroid use.  In the interview, Cena explicitly denied ever using steroids, and went on to describe how steroid use is ruining the credibility of natural athletes.  Unfortunately, CNN chose to edit the interview in such a way as to make it seem like Cena was being evasive about the question. Unfortunately for CNN,  WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) had an unedited version of that interview.

Henry Waxman In A Steel Cage Match?

Wed Aug 01, 2007 at 05:04:20 PM PDT

With the Iraq War getting new life breathed into it by pundits who were wrong from the start (I'm talking to you, "The Threatening Storm" Ken Pollack), the wage gap growing at a staggering rates (at least a new minimum wage was passed though), the President about to steal health care from babies, nut jobs (I'm talking to you Lieberman) having the audacity to try to start a new conflict, all the way down to small issues like the earth overheating and wiping us all out Rep. Henry Waxman has decided it is time to turn up the heat on the biggest problem facing America.
