We, the People

are despairing over their country's barbaric policies in regards to torture.
This is one of many particular discussions that distracts, and is based on false premises.
Yes, torture and it's virtue-less-ness has been in a few recent diaries. But there is a strong need on my part to share my thoughts about this subject.
So here I go and if you will allow me to extend an invitation, you, of course, may come along with me. If it pleases you, kindly.

I Resemble These Remarks
Thu Sep 13, 2007 at 05:13:46 PM PDT
I would now like to share with you, valued potential reader, some statements that I think everyone will agree with. Failing that, your implied agreement, (implied agreement meaning that you have read this far and now have agreed to everything that is written within this diary. I know, I know, you're waiting for the other half of the parenthesis to finish this off hand explanation of your, now, legal agreement to agree with everything in this diary) I think that the following statements will be at least ones you have made at some point in your life. If you disagree, please post your disagreements in the agreed upon fashion.
The statements I have made will be revealed to you, if you would be so kind as to click on one of the seemingly random buttons they have at this site. Good luck!
These statements will hit you like a ton of foam bricks. You have been warned.
Iran: A look into its political structure
Tue Sep 11, 2007 at 06:53:09 PM PDT
I'll try not to be as dry with the subject matter as the headline suggests. Iran's politics and it's interesting take on democracy are worthy items of interest.
Yes, I said democracy, of a sort. I'll give a brief description of the following federal government of Iran's agencies and agents' jobs and duties.
Supreme Leader:
Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei has control of the armed forces: The Supreme Leader is elected by the Assembly of Experts, which is also in charge of overseeing the Supreme Leader, and has the power to dismiss and replace him at any time. As the name indicates, the Supreme Leader is considered as the ultimate head of the Iranian political and governmental establishment, above that of Iran's president; Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. According to the constitution, he has the last say in internal and foreign policies, control of the army and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, control of state broadcast and others.
So, the truth comes out. Ahmadinejad is not the 'commander in chief'. Though he could be, if the Supreme Leader doesn't feel up to the task.
Foreign Policy doesn't work 'cause it's filled with foreigners
Sun Sep 02, 2007 at 03:31:44 AM PDT
Democratic leaders should be held to a higher standard than the Republicans. So with this in mind, I go forward.
US foreign policy can be stated like this: "Do what we want! Do what we want! I'll be your best friend. Gimme, gimme, gimme! That's mine! Fine, I didn't want to share with you anyway!" and so forth.
Barack Obama's recent statement for continuing hegemony is no surprise. Invading sovereign nations is old hat to American politicians. This time under the guise of 'Terrorism'. I believe all politicians in the US get indoctrinated with this infantile desire to control the world's resources and bend the will of the people of Earth to it's ear.
The US cries and screams when people they want extradited from other countries are being held. Yet when other countries want criminals, terrorists, extradited from the US, the US deigns 'it is not responsible'.
Questions about Acronyms
Wed Aug 29, 2007 at 07:06:28 PM PDT
Being new to Daily Kos, I have a few questions about some of the acronyms used on this site in the comments section.
I'm enjoying this site very much. Codes of conduct, ratings, the comment system are agreeable in many ways to me. I won't list them all 'cause I don't want to a) embarrass myself and b) to not ooze mushiness through everyone's computer screens.
I think this diary entry could serve as a acronym primer for new Kossacks. Trying to figure out some of the oft used acronyms in the comment section is difficult. Especially without context, imo. Or probably more correctly, within context and one that I cannot figure out.
